The Harsh Reality of Fairy Tales in Herr Nilsson's Street Art

The first street art known as satire shows just how much of an obsession we have with social media. Like what you see in the picture he's a puppet to Facebook he lives for likes and continue s to be brainwashed to have it control his life. The second piece of satire you see the harsh reality of street art as you see a fairytale like snow white is holding a pistol ready to pull the trigger its showing how a fairytale can cover up the reality of the real world.

This beautiful street art was done in Haiti by C215 a young woman Aude Hulot, came to visit C215 in Paris and during her visit asked him to come to Haiti to paint portaits in the streets of Port au Prince she mentioned that she was part of a local arts association, Kasav and their goal is to promote urban art in the city perhaps eventually to create a festival that attracts street artist to there city. C215 was interested in learning about the dramatic living situation of people in Port au Prince, and see what has happened in three years since the earthquake. He came with a whole collection of Carribean portraits , a few hummingbirds and tropical flowers, so that the local people could appreciate my art with local subjects. They all understood that way that I was painting was a clear tribute to their culture. I found this all interesting in a way because both of my parents are Haitian also I went to Haiti back when I was little and I saw all of this only I had no idea what it meant till now which is amazing its beautiful how much of the culture it captures in paint and expresses so much the Earthquake, slavery and hope. Shows how strong the culture and the people are and invites everyone to come see and share thoughts and opinions even have more artist come and provide even more artwork.

What is street art?

in an Michel Basquiat was born in Brooklyn, New York was the second of four children Mailda Andrades and Gerard Basquiat. He had two younger sisters Lisane and Jeanine. His father was born in Port au Prince, Haiti  and his mother Matilde Basquiat, who was  of Puerto Rican descent. Matilde instilled a love for art her young son by taking him to art museums in Manhattan and enrolling him as a junior member of the Brooklyn Museum of Art.  His work and art can be found on his website http://basquiat.com/c

My online experience was interesting in discovering Jean Michel Basquiat and his art I found out he was the first African American artist to gain but a musician and producer Basquiat first achieved notoriety as part of SAMO and informal graffiti group who wrote enigmatic epigrams in cultural hot bed of lower east side Manhattan,  New York city during late 1970's where hip hop, post punk and street art movement had coalesced. The internet is the gate way to networking with people and finding information outside sources all over the world nowadays so street art being presented on the internet is a way for people from all over the world to witness and find more people to talk about it and form opinions and ideas it also is preserved in way that even if the painting got erased or altered it would always be on the internet to view. I found my chosen art by through culture of where my parents come from Haiti born and raised I thought I search Haitian street artist and basquiat stood out. I selected my street because I was awed and amazed at how it stood out. My definition of street art would have to be that it is an expression that words couldn't have described better its just expressing yourself through a can of spray paint or paint brush etc its beautiful.
